Moonstone Beads & Icy Blue Stone Necklace
The pendant in this delicate necklace has a deep icy blue beauty. The stone is called Shattuckite and the beads are Moonstone. It’s ethereal and yet substantive.
The stone appears as if someone trailed turquoise ink over granular snow. This beautiful pendant is paired with small, irregular Moonstone beads to make a stunning keepsake necklace.
About the Stone
Like so many minerals named for it's source of discovery, Shattuckite is named after the Shattuck Mine near Bisbee, Arizona.
Moonstone has been used in jewelry for millennia. The Romans believed it was derived from solidified rays of the Moon. And it became very popular during the Art Nouveau period. Think of the stunning jewelry made by Rene Lalique.
