About the Stone

Like so many minerals named for it's source of discovery, Shattuckite is named after the Shattuck Mine near Bisbee, Arizona.

Moonstone has been used in jewelry for millennia. The Romans believed it was derived from solidified rays of the Moon. And it became very popular during the Art Nouveau period. Think of the stunning jewelry made by Rene Lalique.
