It all starts by listening to the stone.
The challenge of designing a piece of jewelry around an unusual stone, bead, button or found object stone guides my creative process from design to fabrication.
The silver may be textured, stamped or carved and the stone must harmonize within those elements.
This process leads to work that's irregular, asymmetrical, and truly unique. Just as no two stones are alike no two pieces of my work are alike. I often let things ‘marinate’ together for a while before I make a piece. While each piece is actually meticulously planned, there is always a bit of room for playing around.
