Red Jasper is an opaque variety of Quartz that is found the world over. The name “Jasper” comes from the Greek word IASPIS. The stone in this pendant has a matte surface as opposed to a brightly polished finish. I like the way the black and white play across the top. Simple yet elegant.

Jasper has been used throughout history for both ornamentation and as a gemstone.

About the Stone

Most common colours are red, yellow, brown, green and rarely blue.  Jasper in all its forms is a significant stone in New Age and feng shui practice.
